I haven't been able to find their origins, and when I came across the William and John in Middlesex, I was hoping they were mine. If John is missing, he could be the grandparent of my John who was born about 1755, as it seems that John and William are the names that run through this Copeland family. Also, in Greene Co., GA where they ended up, there is a Richard Copeland with wife, Grace, and son, Baldwin. The name, Grace seems to run through Baldwin families as well. Grace is an unusual name and I see it is in that Chowan Co., NC family, too. Does anyone know if I am on the right track and if my John and William of Charlotte Co., VA connects to the Middlesex family? Thanks for any help. Julia French Wood
Hi Copeland Researchers We are looking for anyone who might know something about a William Copeland who in 1754/5 married Elizabeth Muller in Lancaster County, PA. They had 4 sons prior to William's death in 1759. Could this be the same William who served with George Washington on his Ohio Campaign? William and Elizabeth to our knowledge had a son Thomas who in 1806 left PA and settled in Ontario, Canada.
