There could have been two William's, and William and Mary could have had sons William and Nicholas. We will probably never know for sure. But there is certainly a Nicholas Copeland b by 1642, child of someone or else another immigrant, living in Old Rappahannock Co. in 1663. Rappahannock and Middlesex Co's. both divided off from Lancaster. Luntsford's patent was dated 1650, but that does not tell us how long William and Mary Copeland had been here. Barbara Good
