I am looking again at my COPELAND relatives again and I am still unable to sort out Elizabeth COPELAND. Elizabeth together with her siblings and parents came from Scotland' travelled across the north of England working on various construction sites in Durham and Yorkshire I have many theories but very few facts. I was wondering if any listee could please help 1. Elizabeth1 COPELAND d/o Joseph COPELAND and Elizabeth MCCLYMONT was born on 24 Jul 1885 in Hury, Hunderthwaite, DUR, ENG. (Barnard Castle September Quarter 1885 Teesdale Registration District). She has also been reported to have been born in London, ENG. (Her daughter Sally wrote, "My mother was born in London I think...", but this doesn't appear to be correct although I am reasonably certain that she worked in London and this may be the cause of the confusion). On 5 Apr 1891, Elizabeth Copeland was living with Elizabeth McClymont and James Copeland, Joseph Copeland, Harry Copeland, Martha Copeland, and Mary Copeland, at Gilborne Row in Chapel-en-le-Frith, DBY, ENG. She was a dressmaker on 31 Mar 1901 at Muggleswick, DUR, ENG, (On own account at home). On 31 Mar 1901, Elizabeth Copeland was living with Joseph Copeland and Elizabeth McClymont and James Copeland, Harry Copeland, and Joseph Copeland (plus family): plus 9 Boarders;, at Hisehope in Muggleswick, YKS, ENG. She was a witness at James Payne and Margaret Copeland's wedding on 10 Sep 1902 at the Muggleswick Parish Church at Muggleswick, DUR, ENG. She appears to have married twice, one of whom may have been a BROADBENT She and Joseph Copeland, her father, lived at Elizabeth Copeland's residence, circa 1921. (Joseph Copeland lived with Elizabeth Copeland after she was widowed and I have taken that this was after the death of her first husband). She died young.
