    2. Hi Carolyn From your info your William was born in 1801, which would make my "Hugh" 20 years older then him. Chances of them being brothers is possibly but I really do not know. Many families during that time had very large families. Nicholina Armstrong, Hugh's wife came from a family of 18 children. And I believe that James and Anne Copeland (Hugh's parents)also had a large number of children.I have extensive info on both Copeland and Armstrong from Ireland - 1780s to US..present day.My Copelands (and Armstrongs & Montgomerys) were extremely involded in the Methodist religion. Many became Reverends . In Ireland, John Wesley often preached and stayed at their homes. Hugh had sons named William and Henry BUT they both went to Australia in 1856 and died there. Do you have any idea where in Ireland your Copelands came from? Immigration info ?Possible years? I really do not have info on Hugh's brothers....in fact I am only just working on it, and got their names recently. Many times these families used the last names of those who married into the family as "middle" names. A way I have connected to some "cousins". Common names within this family were Armstrong, Montgomery, Henderson, Bracken. If I come across future info I will keep you in mind. Good Luck Sue in NY
