    3. Hi Carolyn. Thanks for sharing the info on Henry Clinton Copeland. His name might be a clue to some of his ancestors in SC. I will let you know if I run into any info on his family during my future searches. Thanks again, Christopher Carolyn Hennen <carolynsescape37@yahoo.com> wrote: Hi Christopher.. I was reading all the email/postings on the Copelands and noticed that Clinton was a city in South Carolina.. William and Mary Copeland had a son ( my great great grandfather) named Henry Clinton Copeland born 1841 in Arkansas ( from census info). I always wondered where that name Clinton came from and checked as much as i could to see if it was possibly Mary's maiden name since that was the case often back then.. I'm not a pro at this either but i keep trying.. I call my family the "lost" Copelands.. haha. Gosh knows theres enough Copelands not to mention enough Henry Copelands to keep me chasing my tail for the rest of my life.. :) Carolyn Christopher Johnson wrote: Hi Carolyn, Thanks for the reply. I checked my family file and I don't have a William b.c. 1801 unfortunately. I just started my research on the Copelands not too long ago, though, so if I stumble across William at some point I will pass that info on to you. Thanks again, Christopher Carolyn Hennen wrote: John, I was told i was probably connected to this family line also.. Ive heard the same stories of them coming from Ireland. Do you have a William Copeland born in 1801 in your list? census says in North Carolina but you never know if it was South Caroline. I was told the State lines moved and thats why there are differences in the census'. Makes sense.. Carolyn Copeland-Hennen Christopher Johnson wrote: Dear list, I recently began research into the family and ancestry of John Copeland b.c 12 Feb 1748 Chester Co., PA married circa 1774 Margaret Blakely in Laurens Dist, SC. I'm having some difficulty locating John's parents, grandparents, and siblings. I am hoping to connect with other members of this family who might know more about John’s origins. I have seen some information which states that the Copelands originated in Ireland before coming to PA and SC, and my ultimate goal is to trace the family back to their origins in Ireland or the UK. Does anyone on the list have additional information on this family? Thanks in advance for any help, Christopher --------------------------------- Want to start your own business? Learn how on Yahoo!
