Trying to find photos and biographical info on all of the railroad employees involved. A Mr. Copeland was the baggagemaster on the Royal Palm at the time of the accident. Sorry I don't know his first name. He escaped injury and presumably continued in service with Southern Railway. Any of his descendants or relatives reading this?

I would like to hear from descendants of Hugh Copeland born April 1872 Chowan County, N.C. and his wife, Lucille Ethel Evans, born November 1875, daughter of Charles Evans and Catherine Minis (apparently she married Henry Newby before 1896 in Perquimans County). The children of Hugh and Lucille Copeland were: Arthur Copeland - Born December 1897 Bessie Copeland - Born 1915. Married William Wilford Speight about 1938 and moved to Miami, Dade County, Florida. Bessie was my wife's maternal grandmother. She was killed by a drunk driver in Miami August 4, 1980. Flossie Copeland Lucy Copeland - died young Lula Copeland "Buster" Copeland? born 1909 died June 1994 (not sure if Buster and Arthur were one and the same). Maurice Copeland - last we heard, Maurice lived in Raliegh, North Carolina or Richmond, Virginia. Is there an Arthur Copeland, last known email addrress [email protected] on this list???? He is also a Hugh Copeland descendant. Would especially like to hear from him. Thanks. Will ===== JOIN THE BOYCOTT AGAINST TYSON CHICKEN! Looking for further information on the family of Richard Neely Copeland who married Susan Maryline Hafley of Morgan, Decatur, AL. Richard was born 1829 in St. Clair County, AL. Father was Joseph Copeland born abt 1796 in North Carolina who married Charlotte (no last name known). My search stops at Joseph, also my Copeland family line is heavy with Cherokee Indian descendents. Richard and Susan had sons William, Pinckney, Joe and James Cornelius Copeland.
I know this is an off-topic posting but I picked up a book at the flea market this year that I thought might fit into my COPELAND line, but did not. Before I put it up on Ebay I thought someone might be interested in it. If so please contact me privately at [email protected] The book is titled "COPELAND'S TREASURY FOR BOOKLOVERS", Volume IV, selected and edited by Charles Townsend COPELAND, Boylston Professor of Oratory and Rhetoric at Harvard University, published in 1930. The book is in good shape for it's age. Kenneth R. Searles Huntsville, KY

Surnames: COPELAND/GOAD Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ikJ.2ACIB/1138 Message Board Post: Does anyone have any additional information on the gentleman. I am trying to locate the parents of Green Copeland, born approximately in 1805 in TN. I recently discovered that the name of his wife is Jane GOAD/GOARD. Her father in William GOAD/GOARD. In 1830 Green and Jane were living in Overton Co, TN newly married. I noticed that William COPELAND and WIlliam GOAD were living next to each other. William is according to several of your websites the son of Joel Josiah. Some list him as dying young, and others list him as being alive in 1830 in Overton. I suspect my Green is the grandson of Joel Josiah COPELAND. I am not sure which son he belongs to. The names of Green COPELAND children are 1) Rachel 2) Elendor (GOAD family name) 3) Nancy Ann (GOAD family name) 4) WIlliam A, 5) Josiah L. 6) Sarah Elizabeth 7) Frances Marion 8) Henry Harrison Green left TN around 1845 and moved to Carroll Co,Arkansas The fact that Green has children named Josiah and Harrison makes me wonder if he is not the son of Joel Josiah. I also think that Green's uncle may be a Josiah who died in Benton Co, Arkansas after 1850. He was born in NC around 1775. He has a son named William C. who was born in TN in 1815, who named his son Green Lackey COPELAND. I have also seen that Fredrick to son of Richard COPELAND and Margaret HARTSAW had a son named Green. Does anyone have any additional information on William (1830 census Overton) or Josiah "Josar" the sons of Joel Josiah COPELAND? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin Stiles
