    2. In a message dated 3/9/2002 11:54:07 PM Pacific Standard Time, [email protected] writes: Re: > HenrySimmonsWattsnKatePeeplesheadstones From: Bellinda Myrick - Barnett [email protected] List Administrator [email protected] List Administrator [email protected] List Administrator To: WATTS Newsletter group, [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] [email protected], [email protected] [email protected], [email protected] [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Thanking you, in advance, for any assistance that you might be able to give regarding any of the information below which will help fill in some gaps for many of us researching these lines that married into each other with great frequency over the years. Please bear in mind that there may be pieces of incorrect information that could be in the following. If you find something that you know to be incorrect or missing information that fills the gaps, please let me know. Just noticed the name of PEEBLES in the WATTS information that was sent to the group list for the WATTS newsletter and wanted to see if anyone has any information on this family below. At this time, and thanks to recent JORDAN, PEEBLES, HERRINGTON information that was so kindly sent to me by JORDAN researcher, Lonnie KNIGHT, I have connected with some new information and I am writing most specifically regarding the information at the bottom of this email regarding the possible JORDAN connections that there might be for Rachel JORDAN, (my pat. 4th gr. grmthr.,) born: abt. 1750 in ?, prob. Virginia, and prob. in Richmond Co., Virginia, and I believe that she is related somehow to the William JORDAN that was in Richmond Co., Virginia in abt. 1734/35 and is mentioned in conjunction with the will of Mrs. Ann KELLY JENNINGS/Mrs. William JENNINGS, Jr., born: abt. 1696 in VA, poss. Richmond Co., (daughter of (Captain) John KELLY, born: abt. 1660 in ?/VA?, (son of Penelope ? and Matthew (1) KELLY, born: abt. 1640 in ?, (parents: ??, ) and Amy DONIPHAN, born: abt. 1662 in VA, (daughter of (Captain) Alexander DONIPHAN, born: abt. 1640 in Plymouth, Devonshire, England, (parents: ??,) and his 1st wife, Amie/Amy PARTRIDGE, (sister of Samuel PARTRIDGE, Sarah PARTRIDGE, Mary PARTRIDGE, and Elizabeth PARTRIDGE,) ((Capt.) Alexander "Alex" DONIPHAN married as his 2nd wife: Margaret MOTT, and as his 3rd wife, Susannah ?)) It is possible that Rachel JORDAN may possibly have had descendancy from a BAILEY/BAILY/ aka BAILLIE line, and there were several that married into the JORDAN lineage from 1600's VA through into the 1700's,) but this is speculation based on the name of her son whom is my paternal 3rd great grandfather, Bailey JENNINGS, born: abt. 1789 in VA, prob. Richmond Co., who married as his 1st wife, my pat. 3rd great grandmother, Kitty EARLE, born: abt. 1795 in VA, (daughter of Tabitha WILLIAMS, born: 1766 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co., VA, and my paternal 4th great grandfather, Samuel EARLE, IV, (RS/Sgt.,) (2nd son of his name, Samuel, IV,) born: January 20, 1760 at "Town Run" Plantation, Fauquier Co., VA,) (appears to have settled Christian Co., KY with Moses McWATERS/WATERS, and Daniel BOONE and family,) and Rachel JORDAN's husband was John JENNINGS, Sr., (RS,) born: abt. 1748 in Richmond Co., Virginia, (in South Carolina during Revolutionary War and then relocated to Christian Co., KY,) son of Sarah MOORE/MORE? and Edward Salley JENNINGS, Sr., born: 1720 in Richmond Co., Virginia, (son of the aforementioned Ann KELLY and William JENNINGS, Jr..) And the aforementioned Mrs. Amy DONIPHAN KELLY married as her 2nd husband, Edward RANSDELL. William JENNINGS, Jr., born: abt. 1695 in Richmond Co., VA, died in 1733 in Richmond Co., VA, (son of Mary WILLOUGHBY and William JENNINGS, Sr., (son of Margaret PAYNE, (believed to be daughter of John PAYNE, Sr., immigrant, born: abt. 1615 in Yorkshire, England, immigrated to Rappahannock Co., VA,) and wife, Margaret/Margrett, believed to Margaret ROBINSON, daughter of Richard ROBINSON, early 1600's immigrant to Tidewater area of Virginia.) And Mrs. Margaret PAYNE JENNINGS married 2nd husband: Christopher EDRINGTON, Sr.. Upon the death of Mrs. Ann KELLY JENNINGS, only abt. a year after the death of her husband, William JENNINGS, Jr., (both dying in their mid-30's,) their children were placed under the guardianship of their uncles, Augustine JENNINGS, Matthew (2) KELLY, and Alexander Doniphan KELLY. And William JORDAN was mentioned at one point regarding the placement process of the children but I don't have know he relates to Rachel JORDAN yet. The aforementioned Augustine JENNINGS was married to Hannah WILLIAMS and Alexander Doniphan KELLY was a witness to her will so there may also be further connections between her family and the JORDAN family and her WILLIAMS family is somehow connected to the WILLIAMS - BALL - WASHINGTON family and any of those may or may not be connected to either/or my WILLIAMS families of the 1600's England > New England > Virginia, BILLINGTON - WILLIAMS lineage, or the 1600's England > New England > Virginia, PEMBERTON - WILLIAMS lineage. I am sending this over to the LOTTCircle list as well since the WATTS and so many others that connect to this lineage including my MYRICK, GRANTHAM, HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, GRAVES, DICKENS, aka DICKINS, DICKSON, DICKERSON, PIERCE, HATTEN/HATTON, LIGHTFOOT and connecting BARLOW, etc. lines come into play here as well. (Not mentioning all of these names below at this time, however, to keep it as short as possible but there are numerous connections.) Some of the questions that we all have may not be answered until we start taking a much broader look at some of these 'missing pieces' due to the extreme amounts of intermarrying since before these families came to these shores mostly in the early to mid-1600's into Virginia, primarily, but with some coming into New England first and then into Virginia. The Phebe Jordan HERRINGTON, (see information at the bottom of this email for short family tree info,) who married Mark Columbus "Lum" JORDAN, (son of Peebles Columbus JORDAN and Charlotte WELDON,) was the daughter of Martha Jane BARLOW and James Madison "Matt" HERRINGTON, (son of Samuel HERRINGTON, (son of William HERRINGTON, Sr., born: bef. 1755 in Craven Co., North Carolina, who 2 X my 4th great grandfather, as the father of two of the brothers of Samuel HERRINGTON who are my paternal 3rd great grandfathers: (1.) William HERRINGTON, Jr., born: abt. 1794 in New Hanover Co., North Carolina, who married Cynthia "Sina" GRANTHAM, born: abt. 1800 in SC?/NC?, on the Robeson County, North Carolina and South Carolina border, (believed now to be the daughter of Elizabeth AMMONS, (daughter of Elizabeth PARKER, (trying to find out if she is related to my Jeremiah "Jerry" PARKER, born: 1795, and the PARKERs that married into the HERRINGTON lineage,) and John (2) AMMONS , of 1700's Robeson Co., NC,) and Richard GRANTHAM, Jr., son of Richard GRANTHAM, Sr.,) and Wm., Sr.'s 2nd son, (2.) Enoch HERRINGTON, born: abt. 1800 in New Hanover Co., NC, who married Harriet STUCKEY, born: abt. 1802 in AL, (whose sister, Jane STUCKEY, married a man named Jeremiah PIERCE whom I believe is a brother or cousin/nephew of my Elizabeth PIERCE, born: 1790 in 96th District, South Carolina, who married William MYRICK, parents of my 2nd great grandfather, William H. "Billy" MYRICK, born: 1827 in Jones County, (later Jasper Co.,) who married Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, born: April 1834 in MS, (daughter of the Cynthia "Sina" GRANTHAM and William HERRINGTON, Jr. shown above,) and their son, Calvin Pierce "Callie" MYRICK, born: 1858 in Jasper County, MS, married his 3rd cousin, Harriet Katherine "Hattie" HERRINGTON, aka HARRINGTON, born: 1868 in MS, Covington Co. prob., (daughter of my paternal 2nd great grandfather, Isham Daniel HERRINGTON, aka Isom Daniel HARRINGTON, born: Dec 1828 in Covington Co., MS, (son of Enoch HERRINGTON and Harriet STUCKEY above,) and 1st wife: Jane/Rebecca Jane DICKENS, aka DICKINS, (usually seen as Rebecca Jane DICKSON/DICKERSON,) born: 1828 in MS, (daughter of Catherine GRAVES, born: 1800/abt. 1800 in Georgia, (daughter of William W. GRAVES, born: 1769 in Georgia, died: 1850 in Covington Co. Mississippi, (after being in 1850 census,) and wife: Nancy ?, whose son, John GRAVES, born: 13 MAR 1800 in Georgia, and wife, Marian F. DICKENS, b: 6 AUG 1802/03 in Georgia?/Louisana?, who married 23 FEB 1819, and lived/died/buried in Covington Co., MS, (whose daughter was she? as I believe that she may be the sister of the DICKENS man, possibly David DICKENS, aka DICKINS, who married the aforementioned Catherine GRAVES, born: abt. 1800 in Georgia, sister of John GRAVES, and Catherine DICKINS, (aka DICKENS, aka Catherine GRAVES,) is listed as the head of the household in the 1850 Covington Co., MS census along with her father, William W. GRAVES, and her daughter, Jane DICKINS, born: 1828 in MS, (aka DICKENS, aka Rebecca Jane DICKENS, aka DICKSON/DICKERSON, who married Isham Daniel HERRINGTON, aka Isom Daniel HARRINGTON, who is found at the age of 19 years old in that same 1850 Covington Co., MS census just about 3 or 4 lines away in the household of John McCRANEY, aka McRANEY, whose McCRANEY/McRANEY family is married into the GRAVES-DICKENS, aka DICKINS family at least once with the Nancy Ann GRAVES, born: April 18, 1821, (daughter of John GRAVES and Marian(m)/Miriam(n) F. Marzenia HARRINGTON, etc., who was the daughter of Enoch HERRINGTON and Harriet STUCKEY and Marcena was the sister of my aforementioned paternal 2nd great grandfather, Isham Daniel HERRINGTON, aka Isom Daniel HARRINGTON, who married as his 1st wife: Jane/Rebecca Jane DICKENS, aka DICKINS, aka Rebecca Jane DICKSON/DICKERSON, born: 1828 in MS, (daughter of the aforementioned Mrs. Catherine GRAVES DICKENS/DICKINS, (sister of John GRAVES,) (children of Nancy ? and William W.
