Ohio on 03/31/1900. Her parents were Jacob Pash and Elizabeth ? Jacob died in an accident and Elizabeth remarried Thomas Jervis. Hazel was Robert 2nd wife.
I am looking for parents and siblings of Lydia Copeland born abt 1785 in NC. She married John Watson in 1802. Children : James, John Singleton, Benjamin, Jacob, Richard, Sarah, Elizabeth and Thomas. Richard was the youngest and James was the oldest.Lydia has been my brick wall for over 10 years. I am hoping someone can help. Thanks, Theresa
Greetings Fellow Copeland Researchers, I'm interested in finding out more about Thomas M. Copelan who married Mary A. E. Walker in Greene Co GA on 30 Apr 1848. Based on circumstantial evidence that I can provide later, I believe that (1) Mary was a sister of my gggf James T. Walker. (2) Mary and Thomas Copelan had a son Joseph born about 1849. (3) Mary & Thomas had another son Daniel born about 1853. The Joseph Copelan in question here was living in Sequatchie Co TN in 1870 (p. 313, household 9) and 1880 (E.D. 113, p 12, household 98). Here are extracts from the census: 1870 Copland, Joseph 21 Farm Laborer born GA Annie 24 Keeping House b. TN Sarah 4 TN Mary 2/12 TN born in March 1880 Copelan, Joseph 33 (35?) Laborer on farm born GA, parents born GA Ann 34 wife b. TN, parents b. TN Bryant (?) Sarah 14 daughter b. TN, parents b. TN Copelan, Mary E. 10 dau Adeline 8 dau Elizabeth 7 dau Martha 5 dau Charles 3 dau Effie B. 6/12 born in Dec [1879] dau The last 6 children were all b. TN, father b. GA, mother b. TN. It appears that Joseph's wife Ann had been previously married to a Bryant(?) and had a daughter by him. Oral history handed down in my Walker line says that Mary Walker married a Hambrick. Based on information obtained from Hamrick researchers, it seems certain that Mary Walker married Thompson Blanton Hamrick about 1853-1854 and had several children: Charles Minor Hamrick (b. 1855) Thompson Blanton Hamrick "Jr." (1857) Albert Hamrick (1859) Mary Hamrick (1861) Allen Richard Hamrick (1863) Samuel Hamrick (1865) Douglas Haston Hamrick (1868) Elvira Hamrick (1870) The last two were born in TN, the older ones in GA. If my conclusions are correct, these children are half-siblings of the two Copelan brothers. It appears that Mary Walker was widowed soon after her marriage to Thomas Copelan and then married T. B. Hamrick (as his 3rd wife). Does anyone on this list have any information on Thomas M. Copelan and Mary A. E. (Walker) Copelan and/or their descendants? Thanks in advance for whatever you can provide. Good Luck in your research, Charles Walker ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less! Dear Listers, I have a Singleton Copeland that is fairly well identified: born about 1807 in NC or SC. Possibly the son of Anthony M Copeland and wife Nancy Craig. Much circumstantial evidence suggests this to be so. Yet, over the years, I have been tantalized by the name of David Singleton Copeland that was associated with Lott Copeland as a son, I believe. The Singleton name is not common. Does anyone know the connection, if there even is one? Thank you for any input. I am desperately seeking Sara Copeland, wife of Phillip Dennis King. According to the 1920 Jefferson Davis Co., MS census, their son, John Calhoun King, was born abt 1875 in Colorado. Sara was also born in Colorado and Phillip, in Georgia. If anyone has a clue about Sara's family, I'd love to hear from you. Stacy King [email protected]

Also, my files show he had 13 children: Samuel, John, Alexander, Sarah, William, Mary Jane "Babe", Martha, James, Ella, Lorenzo, Margaret "Shug", Harriet and Adam. Also, I believe James and Nancy were cousins. He lived his adult life and died in DeKalb County, Alabama; the bridge he built was in Mills Creek, Alabama. Supposedly, a cabin and barn still stand. Lastly, he supposedly served time with his brother Joseph in the CSA.

If you will work back thru these messages I think you will find some Wayne County, TN inquiries. Also over on GenForum, the Copeland Message Board has many Wayne County mentions. I've been trying to tie my Copeland line to Wayne County. John Copeland, b. 1748, VA or NC, was father of Lott Copeland, born 1772, Surrey County, NC. Lott moved thru KY and on into MO. Lost track of John. Think he wound up in Wayne County with some of his kids, but can't tie it in.Some of Lotts descendants came down to TX and that's where I tie in, thru my paternal grandmother. Good luck on filling in the blanks. Ted Wright

Since you mention wife being N.C. Mackey, I assume this is the same one you are talking about. Hope this helps. "Native of North Carolina. Homesteaded one hundred acres on west bank of Wills Creek. He erected the first bridge across this creek in 1875 thereby enabling early settlers to establish Copeland’s Bridge Community. He married Nancy Catherine Mackey of Leesburg, Cherokee County and reared a family of twelve. Copeland carried the mail from Rome to Huntsville by stage coach and later blazed a mail route from Dawson, Ala to Rising Fawn, Ga."

Later family moved to TN from North Carolina in early 1800s. They settled at the head of Green River in Wayne County, TN. at the head of Green River. They were close to the Natchez Trace. Interestingly most of the family fought for the Union during War Between the States. I have a pretty good family tree put together originally by my Grandmother Annabelle Edwards Copeland. Will gladly share with anyone interested. I am looking to fill in some of the blanks. Have many apocraphyl stories of many of my kin in the family tree.
