Conrad, Just checking. I read your posting with interest. What caught my eye was the NY, Canada, Michigan posting. My James Cooper and wife Susannah, with their five children, left Essex, England in 1858. They had a child in Canada in 1859 and another in Michigan in 1860. Just curious, what dates do you have on your Coopers and where in Michigan did they settle. Mine setteled in the Big Rapids, Grand Rapids area of Kent and Mecosota counties. I am also looking for a Cooper in Michigan, I believe my grandmother Mary Jane Cooper was born in Mecosota County date unknown, however, she died in up state N.Y. in 1925. Ring any bells for anyone.
