Darlene, I am also looking for Wayne County Coopers. Mine is Stephen, born about 1797 in either North or South Carolina. One census says on thing, another says the other. I'm very sure that Samuel and Stephen are closely related. Maybe brothers. Perhaps first cousins. As a matter of fact, they were jointly sued by the State of Tennesssee.
