She was born about 1879 in Sidon, AR (White Co.) Cordelia and I are descended from a line that goes back to Allyss Elizabeth Benson and John Coggin of Davidson CO, NC. I notice the name Benson in your line. The Cooper's and these two families were in the Davidson Co. area. My Elizabeth Coggin is their granddaughter. She was born in about 1813, married John Cooper and moved west to KY. John died in KY in 1854, and Elizabeth went on to AR. >> Kay, Thank you for your response. I don't see the connection either, but it catches my interest due to the names. My Benson Cooper was in Spartanburg SC with his family prior to migrating to AR. Sometimes, a female ancestors maiden name will be used as a given name for a son. I wonder if there could be a connection somewhere? Benson was born about 1813 in SC. His daughter Cordelia was born in 1833 in SC. The other children are Julia E, Dillard, John C W, Emilita and Benson H, all younger than Cordelia. Thanks. Georgia
