He married Polly Towns that year. They were in the 1840 census. His wife and only son by that marriage went to TX in 1853 and all descendents are known. Rumor says he could have been married before this one with a family, but no proof. He probably died before 1853. have yu run across anyone who seems to fit this' George --WebTV-Mail-3113-2466 Content-Disposition: Inline Content-Type: Message/RFC822 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Received: from mailsorter-101-9.iap.bryant.webtv.net (209.240.198.43) by storefull-158.iap.bryant.webtv.net with WTV-SMTP; Thu, 22 Jun 2000 10:44:50 -0700 (PDT) Return-Path: <COOPER-L-request@rootsweb.com> Received: from lists5.rootsweb.com (lists5.rootsweb.com [63.92.80.123]) by mailsorter-101-9.iap.bryant.webtv.net (8.8.8-wtv-f/ms.dwm.v7+dul2) with ESMTP id KAA03934 for <gwwilson@webtv.net>; Thu, 22 Jun 2000 10:44:45 -0700 (PDT) Received: (from slist@localhost) by lists5.rootsweb.com (8.10.1/8.10.1) id e5MHf7C27162; Thu, 22 Jun 2000 10:41:07 -0700 Resent-Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2000 10:41:07 -0700 X-Original-Sender: CMGTin@aol.com Thu Jun 22 10:41:06 2000 From: CMGTin@aol.com Message-ID: <72.709787.268396a5@aol.com> Date: Thu, 22 Jun 2000 12:19:49 EDT Old-To: COOPER-L@rootsweb.com MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 5.0 for Windows sub 108 Subject: [COOPER-L] Jonathan Cooper & Sarah Hibbs--descendants to IL??? My Coopers were in the Clark/Crawford Co area of IL by the early 1800s having migrated there from PA, and I have yet to hook them up with any PA Coopers. I have a strong feeling that they were Quaker when in PA. There seems to be some connection with the Kenderdines and Lloyds, as well, who apparently traveled with some of the Coopers to Clark Co, IL from Montgomery Co, PA. Anyone know of any descendants of Jonathan & Sarah (Hibbs) Cooper that eventually ended up in IL, or even any of their lines that haven't been researched that could be possibilities for me? We have in our line given names such as Marmaduke, Theophilus, Cadwallader, Spencer, Kenderdine, etc., if that is a clue to anyone. Serious frustration has set in, especially considering that it will be some time before I can actually physically travel to PA to try to find records of these folks. Any help or suggestions for advancing my search would be delightfully received. I would be glad to send detailed information on my line to anyone who thinks we may be connected.
