After Mary's death on 8 February 1852, their oldest son, Ansell, residing in Pickens District and aged 73 years (born 16 June 1779) petitioned the court for pension due his father and mother. The above book states that Sion died in Pickens Co., South Carolina as apposed to Earline Day has him dying in Spartanburg Co., South Carolina. The book also tells of Sion residing in Wake Co., North Carolina when he entered the Revolutionary War at age 16. he served 18 months and was in South Carolina when peace was made.
