COOPER FAMILY JULY 1998 FowlerCooper connections, Dug through my archived e-mail and found this one that mentions a book titled, "The House of Fowler". Might help if you can find it. Cassandra Cooper 1806-1891, daughter of Moses and Rebecca Carlton Fowler married Joesph Cooper 1795-1868 son of Jacob and grandson of William and Lydia Cooper of Union County SC. I have better dates on William Sr. than what are recorded in this e-mail. Danny Cooper Byrd William Cooper, Sr. was probably born around 1710-1720 in New Jersey. He married Lydia “Lidy”Clark. They lived in Bucks County, PA from about 1753 until 1771. About 1771 they moved to Union Cty, South Carolina.. It appears that William Cooper, Sr. died in Union Cty, SC but there is currently no proof.. William had a will that is recorded at Charleston, S.C. in Will Book TT 1774-1778 that listed his heirs and the land they were to inherit. The names it mentions to inherit are Jacob, William, Stacey, Nathan, Jerimah, David, Joseph, Sarah, and Hannah. It appeas some of the Cooper family was put out by the Quaker Church while in South Carolina. Some of this story is listed in a book called the House of Fowlers. I have not seen this book therefore I’m relying on William Carroll, descendant of the Cooper family, for this information. Some of this information provided is also from Susan Caldwell-email svc@akorn.net.
