    1. Re: [COOPER-L] Jesse COOPER, for Janet
    2. Thank you much, Joyce. It would make sense that Jesse's Father would be John, as Jesse's son was named John also. As to Jesse's wife, Sarah Elizabeth Cale's father, Henry Cale having been in Hampshire C.,Va...he was born 1812, so he may not have still lived in that county by the 1850 census. By 1901 he had lived and did die in Noble,Guernsey C.,Oh. They really did move! It was very nice of you to check. Best wishes. The family is listed in District 16 (the Back Creek area of the county). John Cooper 50 M Farmer Barbara Cooper 48 F Jesse Cooper 22 M Farmer Sarah Cooper 19 F Catherine E. Cooper 17 F Eliza Cooper 13 F John Cooper 10 M Virginia Cooper 4 F Jesse's age in this census would make him born about 1828. However, ages listed census records aren't always perfectly reliable, and your date of 1830 is pretty close. Also, I couldn't find a Henry Cale in the 1850 Census of Virginia. However, there are Cales and Kales throughout the western part of the state and what is now WV. By the way, the 1850 Census is on-line, scanned images through Familytreemaker's Genealogy Library. Hope this helps. Joyce ==== COOPER Mailing List ==== This list is brought to you by the RootsWeb Members and Sponsors.
