Curt, I'm not even sure if Samuel Ogden or Martha Cooper were in Arkansas. I have Martha Cooper being born in approximately 1833. I do not know her parents. I thought she was born in Virginia, but I'm not even sure of that. Samuel Ogden was born in England in about 1819. I do not know the names of his parents either. Samuel died January 9, 1876, in Peoria, Illinois. Martha survived him along with their children: Peter, James W. and Anna (nee Ogden) Sharp. In 1860 Peoria census, it lists Samuel as a "saloon-keeper" and 41 years of age. Martha was listed as 27 years and I think it reads "VA" as place of birth, but I could be misreading it. Mary E. was listed as 2 and 1/2 years of age and Peter S. was listed as 3 months. Both were born in Illinois. In 1862, my great-grandfather, James Washington Ogden, was born in Peoria, Illinois. That's all I know. I cannot find a marriage record for James and Martha in Virginia or Illinois on Ancestry.com, so maybe they were in another state, i.e., Arkansas. Kevin
