As far as I know, my Alonzo Cooper was never in Oklahoma or Arkansas. He left Maine (Biddeford area I think) with his twin, Lorenzo, and came to the California gold fields by way of ship (about 1855). I have lost track of Lorenzo and rumor has it - Alonzo returned home to tell his mother of the death of her son. (That must be around when he married Mary Adelaid Lowell...) Mary Adelaid Lowell Cooper died, in Auburn CA, about 188? (I have a copy of her probate records but no exact date of death...) In my research, I keep running across another Alonzo Cooper but not the one I am seeking.
