    3. Hi Cooper Cousins... Ben and Kay, I am happy to join with you on posting our lines. As Kay has posted, our Cooper Lines match on DNA. Until then we had no idea we were researching the same Coopers. I have followed at least three Cooper lines in Bedford County Tn. I know that one of them is my line. The John Cooper (born 1730-N.C.died 1794N.C.-left will naming sons, Samuel, Thomas, Isles ,James and John and daughters Mary Ward, Sophia Curlin, Dolly Gray, Sarah Glascow ,Elizabeth Heath and Frankie) has been claimed by many as their ancestor. Proven so far by the DNA test are Decendants of two sons of this Old John, Samuel and James, have matching DNA. My line is from the oldest son Samuel who had at least two sons proven to date: Zacheus and Wells who were both in Bedford County Tn in the 1810.1820 and 1830 census. Both of their decendants had had DNA test which match. James , another son of Old John, who stayed in N.C. also has decendants whos DNA matches with Zacheus and Wells. Wills and records show that Thomas Cooper, son of Old John did not have sons, only two daughters. Records also show that Isles, son on Old John had sons, so far , to my knowledge, none of their decendants have been tested. The youngest son of Old John, was John Jr. There have been several claims to this John, but so far no one who has made this claim has come forward with a matching test. The paper trail and research have pretty well established this line of Coopers. The DNA test is helping to prove it true. The DNA numbers for our line of Coopers is the blue color second from the top on the chart. It there are Coopers with Isles or John Jr. line ,please have the DNA test and it will confirm or disprove relationship with Old John Cooper line. Later...Joyce
