Good Morning, Thank you for the input. Just wish I could add to what I have written. But I seem to have been at a brick wall for what seems like years and years. What I do have is from the book by John Little, "First Settlers of the Passaic Valley" Since I am not able to have but a very few of my records with me, I do not happen to have that particular book today. I will have to have my son find it for me and bring it to me. I am hopeing to be able to make a trip to N. J., which is more or less a dream, to do research. I will also be searching for information on Capt. John Maxwell and his wife Eunice Osborn, Luke and Lucas Van Buskirk, -- Luke married Capt. John Maxwell daughter Elizabeth --- and the Howell family. I do have some on the rest of these family lines but the Cooper family always seem to be the dead end search. I would really like to see just what might be found if I could just go there. However, I live in the very corner of N. W. Washington, a short distant from Canada. So, it will be about a two month research trip for me if I get to go. Perhaps, if you would send me a list of leads, I would be able to keep an eye open for information that you would like to have. It is never to early to start planning this long of a trip. Beth, Thank you for your note. I'm afraid I don't have many additional "leads". Most of my COOPER information has been obtained through LDS tapes. Although I grew up in New Jersey, I haven't had a chance to go back to do any research on the premises, so to speak. Just today I learned, through the NJ marriage listings, that Gilbert's father was named Michael COOPER. Very exciting. Now if I can just sift him out from the myraid of other COOPER's probably in New York State where Gilbert was born. Good luck with your research.
