My maternal grandfather's great grandparents were: Thomas F. Palmer (b NJ 1787-1864) and Rebeckah Snow (b. RI 1790-1854). They lived NY and six children there 1817-1829 and moved to OH & to IL where they died at Prairie Center, LaSalle Co., and are buried there. I know much of him, nothing of her. The oldest child was Lydia Hubbard Palmer (1817-1902). I have yet to figure out why her middle name was Hubbard. She marr. to Orrin Gridley (1811-1897) at Lodi OH 1839. Both d. & bur. Chapin, IA. They had four children 1840-49. 1st died dsp. Last three all lived: Henrietta (1843-1907) m Isaac Duke, 2 children: Cora m. Harry Rankin & had 3 ch; & Orrin Duke m. Olive Monzingo & had 3 ch.; Sarah (1847-1895) m. Wm. F. Cooper. She died Chapin, IA, and I think her parents had gone to that area vic Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo, IA probably to be near their children.
