    2. Charlotte and others: having been down the "emigrated from Holland" path before, just be aware that many ENGLISH immigrants SAILED (embarked) from Holland but were not FROM Holland (Dutch). I know there are some Coopers who were Dutch (Kuyper, Kupfer, Kuper, Kupos, etc.) and anglicized their names, but I've seen this Daniel Cooper before - a collateral line of mine -- and believe his ancestors were English.
