    3. I'm looking for connections to Morris (he liked to be called Maurice or Curley) COOPERMAN. He was born in New York the son of Abraham COOPERMAN who immigrated from Vienna, Austria in 1882. Abraham met and married Fanny Windon. Morris and David were born in New York. In 1887 or 1888 the family moved to Leadville, Colorado. Morris may have had several wives in his lifetime. One wife was Ophia Cable who was from the Burlington, IA area.. Morris is known to have been in Deadwood, SD and Las Vegas, NV at different times. I hear that he was a boxer and was the commissioner of boxing in the state of Wyoming. He was also very high in the Freemasons in Denver, CO. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Raymond Coon

    3. Hi Raymond... Here's a couple of suggestions (you may have already tried these, but you didn't say, so....) Try contacting the Freemasons: http://www.masonsofthesanjuan.org/lodges.html (This is a listing of all the Grand Lodges in the US. There are links on each page for individual lodges.) Boxing Commission in Wyoming...Try the Wyoming State Archives: http://www-wsl.state.wy.us/sis/refform.html http://www-wsl.state.wy.us/wsl/search.html You could also do a search for the U.S. Boxing Commissioner's office and see if they have a contact for Wyoming.
