John Thomas Covington Cooper comes down this way: Leighton's son either Richard or Robert, haven't got that yet; his son was Covington Cooper who died in Cass Co, Mo. his son was John Thomas Covington Cooper, born 23 Dec 1833 in Madison Co, KY, died on 27 Mar 1907 in Geyserville, California. Estill Co Deeds Vol C-D, shows Benjamin deeding to Laiden (they spelled it lots of ways) . FHC film 254618. I also have some copies from the National Archives on Benjamin A. Cooper, Number S16722. The application for pension was dated 25 Feb 1833 in Saline Co. Missouri. Aged 77. If you are interested the FHC film is 970646.
