Hi Perils, In your Cooper research of upstate NY have you ever run across a Nathaniel P (Parda/Pardee???) Cooper. He was probably b abt 1806 "in NY" according to census records. He was married in 1835, Pultneyville, Wayne, NY to Sophia Lucinda Cowles, dau of Russell Cowles, b CT and Wilhelmina Pepper, b Holland. Nathaniel is my brick wall. My brother has donated his DNA to the Cooper DNA project and we will soon be upgrading the 12 marker test to 36. Hoping that will help break down the wall. Just thought I would ask you since you are doing so much research in that area. Thanks Carroll (Cooper) Summers Oregon Hi list, as we speak, I am doing intensive research on the early Coopers of New Jersey. My search has been focused on the Coopers of Eastern NJ, as I am looking for the origin of a Thos Cooper, wf Mary, who migrated to upstate NY circa 1800 or so. There are at least 4 lines of Coopers represented there before 1800, including an Ezekiel from the James of Coopers Point, circa 1750 or so. I am currently exploring the lines of New England Coopers, looking for the origins of the ones who migrated to NJ as land became available. My other New England lines are Balch, Gardner, Bowne,Veren, Conant, Dodge, picked up the Tetor or Dietz in Morris County, NJ, and Cottrell in Monmouth County. The name Conk , Lewis and Grandin appear in NJ for me, and hopefully they will somehow shed some positive light on my elusive Cooper. Nathan, descendent of John and Wilbroe was in Morris County too, if I remember correctly, with out checking my notes. Please post your correspondence so we can all perhaps benefit from it……..hey, you never know!!! Perils of Pauline in NY
