    3. Do you have a Cooper male that would do a DNA test ? The results may provide you with a lot of information. Gary S. 3. Tom, We have about 164 men that have done the test. My ancestors passed through Giles and Lawrence Counties TN. Hope your will decide to give it a try. I have had the 37 marker test done. I did it the most expensive way, first I had the 12 marker, then the 25, then the 37 marker. I would recommend the 37 to begin with. It will be much cheaper. This is done by FamilyTree, it takes four to six weeks for results. Gary S. Cooper # First, there is a Y-DNA12 Marker Test which costs $99.00 - [Plus postage*]. This test will define your Cooper-line and ascertain if your line of Cooper's is connected to other Cooper-lines participating in the MCDNAG. # Second, there is the Y-DNA25 Marker Test which costs $159.00 - [Plus postage]. # Third, there is the Y-DNA37 Marker Test which costs $189.00 - [Plus postage]. This test should be run to bring your Most Recent Common Ancestor closer in time. # Fourth, there is the Y-DNA59 Marker Test which costs $269.00 - [Plus postage]. This is both of the above tests plus it gives you an additional 22-markers. # Fifth, there is the Y-Refine12to25 Marker Test which costs $49.00 - [Plus postage]. This test upgrades the Y-DNA12 Marker Test to the Y-DNA25 Marker Test. # Sixth, there is the Y-Refine12to37 Marker Test which costs $99.00 - [Plus postage]. This test upgrades the Y-DNA12 Marker Test to the Y-DNA37 Marker Test. # Seventh, there is the Y-Refine12to59 Marker Test which costs $189.00 - [Plus postage]. This test upgrades the Y-DNA12 Marker Test to the Y-DNA59 Marker Test.
