I have him in Loudoun County VA where his descendants originated. This is my brick wall. I am trying all leads. Hi Russell, Your Jonathan Cooper could be descended from the family of Jonathan Cooper born 11 Jan 1675 in Richmond, near Leyburn, Yorkshire England and died 12 February 1769 in Byberry P.P., Abington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He immigrated to America with his father William Cooper and step mother Thomasine Porter in 1699 along with William Penn on his last return trip to the Colonies. They were Quakers and belonged to the Byberry Meeting Place in Bucks County which is still there today along with the old graveyard. William Cooper was buried there in 1709. I believe Jonathan had at least two brothers and a sister that immigrated also. I haven't worked this line in several years and would have to dig out my notes. Jonathan had children named Hannah, Jerimiah, Jonathan, Phebe, Jacob and William. William is my maiden line and moved to Union County, South Carolina after the death of his father Jonathan in 1769 who was my sixth great grandfather.
