Hello! I am looking for Susan(ah) Cooper - born in Ohio about 1809 - who married Samuel Mordock 2 March 1826. She is in the 1830 census with her husband, Samuel (born 29 Oct 1802 per father's will), in Martinsburg Township, Knox County, Ohio. Members of the household listed were 1 male 10-15; 2 males 20-30 (one would be Samuel); and 1 male 30-40; 1 female <5; 1 female 5-10; 1 female 20-30 (Susan) She and Samuel still lived in Knox County in 1832 - I have a deed transferring property to his brother in September. I cannot find either of them in the 1840 census. Susan Mordock appears again in the 1850 census living with a Cooper family in Gilead, Morrow County, Ohio. Possibly a brother. The head of the family is Isaac Cooper, age 40, a carpenter. His wife, Mary A. age 43, and two sons, John, 9 and Byrum T., age 5. There is also a John R. Smith, 41, farmer, living there, with two daughters, Elizabeth V., age 12 and Sarah L., age 10. No mention of Mordock children. Any information about this family would be appreciated.
