Jackie, My grandmothers name was Sarah Rippy Cooper. She married my Grandfather-James Theodore Vertrees. I know for sure my grandfather was born in Ky. The census I've seen always have her as being born in Ky. But her daughter , said she was born in Tenn., that was the info she gave for her Obit. when she passed away. She was born 8 July 1862, but some census has her from 1859-1861. She was about 20 Yrs. younger than my grandfather. They married in Evansville. Ind. in1879. She passedaway on May 11, 1916 in Owensboro, Ky. where all my family lived aswell as the rest of her children except for two. I really appreciate your offer and maybe can find something about her. Thanks again Shirley Manis Jackie Purlee <jackie_purlee@yahoo.com> wrote: Shirley, I descend from Cooper's on both sides.
