    3. No, I haven't had any luck with this. My William Bailey was called "Uncle Bailey" in his old age. I had another name mystery in another branch of my family and found out he was named for a military figure. I believe I've seen a Bailey who was a known military figure and have thought this could be a possiblity. It's always possible that your John, Enoch's father, could be of my William Bailey. There was also an Enoch Cooper in early Mason Co., KY along the Ohio River. Have you determined if your Enoch was also born in N. Carolina? Is it possible that your John came to Mason Co., KY at some point with another Enoch? There was also a Jesse and a Vincent, among other Coopers in early settlement of Maysville, KY area. One of these days we'll crack this mystery. My uncle did dna before he died and we traced to a John Jackson Cooper and others back through what is now W.VA to Stafford Co, VA.
