I have just made a discovery after getting my grandmothers birth certificate, that her fathers name was Louis Franklin Cooper not Franklin Louis Cooper and for the past 6 months that is the name I have been researching. Boy do I feel like a dummy. Also on her birh certificate it states his and her mother (Harriet Ellen Brown) place of birth as being just the US. How in the world does one go about finding out what state they were born in? I waa under the impression it was Indiana but I could be wrong. I have copies of census records that states both thier places of birth was Indiana. So how does one go about finding that out. If anyone has information on either Louis Franklin Cooper b. dec 2, 1857 died feb 14, 1948 or Harriet Brown born in 1853 I would greatly appreciated. I have hit a total brick wall when it comes to the two of them.
