    3. I have been trying for years to find information on my great-grandfather, but because of almost every Cooper family having the same names, I can't get past him. I am looking for information on Jonathan David Cooper (he went by John D. Cooper) B: June 7, 1847 - Supposedly Jerseyville, Illinois He had a brother William Franklin Cooper B: July 1, 1852 - Bowling Green, Missouri Their father's name is listed on their death certificates as "Cap" Cooper. This family ended up in Willard (Springfield), Greene County, Missouri. They were apparently making their way from another state through Illinois and on into Missouri. Since almost everyone has a "John" and a "William", I'm hoping the name "Cap" might mean something to someone. There could probably be other children, as most families had more than two. Thanks for any responses or suggestions you may have. Marty (Cooper) B.
