    3. Hi Bette... I am looking for COOPERs in England too. I don't think your Mark COOPER is part of my family, but you never know. The COOPERs I am looking for are from the Rosedale/Lastingham/Danby area of North Yorkshire. My ancestor had a brother named Mark Dowson COOPER born 1799 (named after his grandfather, Mark Dowson). He did have a son named Mark, but he stayed in Yorkshire. I found the following possibility at www.familysearch.org/ for your Mark COOPER. Mark COOPER christened 23 Aug 1829 at Ratcliffe Culey, Leichester, England Parents: William and Ann COOPER This looks like a good fit with your info. It looks like your folks wanted to name a later son William after the eldest son had died (perhaps named after Mark's father??). Other possible siblings for Mark COOPER: Sarah, William, George, John, James, etc., also names in your family. Good luck!
