Just for information -~ the PINCKNEY surname is a very important one in SC and Revolutionary history. Charles PINCKNEY and his son Charles Coatsworth PINCKNEY were very wealthy planters, and I think, the son signed the Declaration of Independence (father or son, for sure). They did have large families and many of the families continued to use the PINCKNEY surname as a middle name, but other families named their children in honor of the PINCKNEY family. The PINCKNEYs were also large slave owners and quite a few of them adopted the surname PINCKNEY. Hope this might help some of you. The PINCKNEYs were in the Charleston and lowcountry area. Most of the MCKISSICKS that I have known came from Greenville Co., and quite a few of them are now in Pickens Co. I may be able to offer a bit of help on the MCKISSICKS if you want to write me privately. Godspeed... Dolores Miller Pringle - native of Pickens Co.,SC; currently of Horry Co., SC
