    2. LONGS, SC | Floyd W. Cooper Jr., 82, of Longs, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at his home. Born January 10, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Floyd Wayne and Velma Margaret Porter Cooper. He was predeceased by his wife, Vickie B. Cooper; and a sister, Marjorie ''Sis'' Hoopengardner. Mr. Cooper was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Linn Creek Masonic Lodge No. 152 in Camdenton, Mo., a Past Worthy Patron of the Loris Chapter No. 106 Order of the Eastern Star, as well as a member of Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City, Mo., North Strand Senior Center, Wampee, and Buck Creek Baptist Church, Longs. He was a loving father and a dear friend. Mr. Cooper is survived by his daughter, Candis A.C. Coleman and her husband, Randy, of Longs; one sister, Norma Jean Chambers of Gainesville, Va.; one granddaughter, Brandi. C. Glenn; and one great-grandson, Porter Coleman Quinne. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2008 at Lee Funeral Home. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pastor Mike Vipperman will officiate services.
