    2. ANDREWS, SC | Martha Ann Johnson Cooper, 91, wife of the late Willie Leo Cooper, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Tidelands Community Hospice. Mrs. Cooper was born March 20, 1917, in the Earles Community, the daughter of William Calvin Johnson and Anzie Aleatha Lambert Johnson. She retired from Oneita Knitting Mill in 1979. She was member of the Andrews Church of God since the 1960's where she has served as a Sunday School teacher and Women's Auxiliary past president. As a southern lady, her home was the social center for meals hosting family and friends with her great cooking. She will be remembered for her loving spirit and contagious joyous smile as she greeted you at home, church, or Wal-Mart. Her legacy reveals a cherished wife, loving mother, caring sister and friend. She has carried and supported an untold number of people through their storms and difficult times by the countless hours of intercessory prayer. Martha and Willie were married January 13, 1937 and celebrated 55 years together. From their union survives five children, W. Lorenzo (Doris) Cooper and Lois (Allen ''Sonny'') Cumbie, both of Fountain Inn, W. Carthell (Lou) Cooper and Bernice L. (Julia) Cooper, both of Andrews, and Shirley (the Rev. Ronald) Newton of Hemingway; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Levis (Alice) Johnson of Georgetown, Bobby (Shama) Johnson of Andrews, and JC (Lydia) Johnson of Montgomery, Ala.; two sisters, Beatrice Cooper of Georgetown, and Mildred (HB) Shirley of Marrietta, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Edith Johnson and Catherine Johnson, both of Greenville. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; two grandchildren, Chris Cooper and Juwan Cumbie; four brothers, Russell Johnson, Hubert Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, and Calvin C. ''Pete'' Johnson; and one brother-in-law, Tom Cooper. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Andrews Church of God. Burial, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, will follow in the Andrews Memorial Cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Ronald Newton, the Rev. Eric Shuler and the Rev. Wayne Cox. Visitation will be held from 6 until 9 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2008 in the sanctuary of the Andrews Church of God.
