I am still looking for info on Joshua M. Cooper and wife Mary Smith. I recently found the rest of their children. I only knew of two, Hester C. born in 1846, who married Henry A. D. FREEMAN in Manhattan, and Joshua Marsden Cooper Jr. I just found that Joshua Marsden Cooper married a Lilly J. C. MONROE on 5 Nov 1884 in Manhattan, she being the daughter of Joshua and Ann D. RICHARD Monroe. Lilly was born in Albany and I believe her father was also. Joshua and Lilly had no children. Other children of Joshua and Mary COOPER are now known and they are Wilhelmina S. who married (making the search so much easier) a SMITH, John H. on 17 Mar. 1883 in Manhattan, son of John R. and Eliza STOCKER Smith. Three other sons, Albert, Samuel and James. It looks like Joshua died after 1861 and before 1870 because Mary can be found in the 1870 and the 1880 census without him and just some of the children.
