Hello Gerre, I thought that perhaps my Coopers were related to the Daniel C. Cooper of New Jersey who laid out the city of Dayton, Ohio but they weren't. I know how you feel. My Jesse Cooper shows up in the newspaper "The Western Spy and Hamilton Gazette" in 1802. It seems there is a letter at the post office waiting for him. It's addressed to Jesse Cooper of Columbia. I've found very few people (2) who were related to him, but they didn't know any more than I did so I'm still in the dark. Jesse lived in Hamilton and Clermont Counties. He had 3 sons, William, Samuel and Jared. William had 7 children who reached adulthood so someone out there must be related, but I sure haven't found them. You just have to keep trying.
