Thank you Rose, that does help - or make for a lot more work on my Cooper line :-). We really hadn't looked beyond the area around Pultneyville/Williamson and looks like we had better extend our research. I have read the history of Pultneyville and Wayne Co. so knew there were probably Cooper's beyond where we have looked. We do think Nathaniel had a brothr named Benjamin in Oswego during the Civil War as there was correspondence according to a history of Ft. Collins, CO where the family lived at that time. Also, Benjamin had been in CO visiting Nathaniel & family. We had done the DNA test but have not found a match to date. Will just have to keep trying and follow every lead. Thank you so much for the information Carroll Carroll, There were six Coopers in Wayne Co., NY where the wife was born. This is where I would state John Cooper Ontario, Wayne, NY Parker Cooper Ontario, Wayne, NY Enoch Cooper Palmyra, Wayne, NY David Cooper Sodus, Wayne, NY Griffith Cooper Williamson, Wayne, NY Thomas Cooper, Willamson, Wayne, Ny This is the group that was in Wayne Co., NY in 1830 The county of Wayne was apart of Ontario, Seneca Counties and became a county in 1823 The county of Seneca was apart of Cayuga until 1804 The county of Ontario was apart of Montgomery until 1789 This is apart of New York, NY So in in 1790 Ananias Cooper John Cooper Joseph Cooper Thomas Cooper William Cooper Hope this helps, Rose ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
