I have a daughter of my John M. Cooper who was named Armitta; she married John Leakey. We believe the name Armitta came from the spouse of Everett Rogers of Martin Co, NC. We have found these Rogers and Coopers intermarried quite a bit. After Martin Co, NC, they migrated to Wilson Co, TN (parts of which became Cannon Co, TN) and then my branch (John M. Cooper and Drupina {Piney} Rogers) moved on to Hardin Co, TN where we again find the Rogers family.
