Ben, Thanks for the additional info you found. Phillip's daughter Emma Viola was my g-grandmother. I have the 1870, 1880 & 1900 censuses however, I'm not confident that the 1860 census is the correct family. The children Mary Ann, Morison & John would have been 8, 5 & 2 years old and they are not listed. You mentioned Phillip D. Cooper from KS...does he have his research online? I didn't see it at the DNA site. Thanks, Barbara
Barbara, like you I am not sure of the 1850 or 1860 census. I am still looking but have been unable to find what I am looking for which would be the entire family together in a census. They could have been in NY, PA or OH, I believe, in these years. Family Tree DNA does not allow identifying the DNA kit number with the individual, thus you will not find Phillip D. Cooper's name from Chanute, KS anywhere in the Cooper Surname Reconstruction Project at http://www2.arkansas.net/~bcooper2k/. This assures privacy. Participants in the group who match other participants are automatically notified of match(es) and given the email addresses of their match(es) to make contact and exchange familial information. In the case of Phillip of Chanute, he does not have a computer. Also, to answer your question, I do not believe he has his research anywhere on the Internet unless another family member of his has created a file that I cannot recall at the moment. Have a good day!
