<< OK, Bob, This is too good to pass up. Tell me more. What Cooper line do you have back to 1730, and what Manning line are you from? We are from John Cotton in SC (son of Marcome, we think)in SC through his son Cader, and my maternal grandmother was a Manning, from NC to Clark Co., AR. I have that line back to 1635. Let's compare. Nancy Bray Cooper miminbc@sprynet.com>> Okay, Nancy: Hmmmm --1635---Let me guess John Manning "The Globe" to Virginia. Nope, I'm not related to those Manning's or the Manning's in SC. I do descend from Jeffrey Manning and Abigail Andrews who settled in Piscattaway, NJ. Many from that line including my family also have the John Manning 1635 "The Globe" story, but they claim Boston as destination. I believe we are wrong and I assign this John Manning to Roanoke, VA. My Cooper immigrant family are Adam Cooper and his wife Jane (later Jane Rutledge) and their children. My first Cooper marriage in SC was their son William Cooper to Jane James. This line continues to my grandmother Rosie Isabel Cooper who married in 1910 my grandfather Frederick Claude Manning who at the time was a principal in the Sumter Telephone Mfg. Co.
