Your A.L. Cooper could be related somehow to my John McCutchie Cooper, but since I know nothing of my John's siblings and other family (except one sister), I have no information to tie in with yours. They may have changed the spelling of their name at some point, but I don't have any indication that they did, and have heard no family stories that mention it. I do know that some of my Denson family moved to Arkansas, so maybe some of the Coopers did too. One of these days, WHEN I locate John M.'s family, maybe we'll be able to connect!
