    1. Re: [COOPER-L] New Jersey COOPERS
    2. Hi Beverly I may be a relation of yours as I haven't found mine yet. Do not know if my gr grandmother Sarah or Sally Cooper was born in NJ or NY. She married my gr grandfather John Scott around the first part of 1820 - I have found a daughter Jane which may have been their eldest born in 1826. There were at least 10 or more children born in NY. I have found 10 but was told there were 13 but no one knows who they were. See if these names ring an bells with you - Jane, George, Squire, Charles, Magee, Sarah Elizabeth, Robert, Evelinda, Zadia, and Harrison. Zadia was my gr grandmother. I found the above family in 1840 and 1850 in Chemung Cty, NY. They went to Michigan and I found John and Sally in 1860 and 1870. They both died around 1877 and 1879. All of the Michigan relatives that would know anything are deceased. I cannot find either side of the family Scott or Cooper. I chased a Squire Cooper around for awhile but did not find he had a sister Sarah or Sally so that ended that. Hope to hear from you. Zelma Anderson

    3. Zelma, In reviewing my messages for the last month, I believe I may have overlooked responding to yours. I apologize. Unfortunately I don't think our COOPERS are directly related. Mine were in New Jersey at least back to 1840. Gilbert COOPER was, however, born in New York, so I will keep an eye out for your folk, once I get back into New York State. With wonderful names like Zadia and Evelinda I should certainly remember them. Wish my folk had been as creative. Good luck with your research.
