C.B.Snow.... thanks for answering. I'm looking for a William H. Cooper prior to the Civil War. He was in TX and fought in the war but doesn't show up in Sabine Co records until later. Rumor was they came to Red River Co or area in 1853 from IL. The IL part is not rumor but the Red River area is. Thanks again. George
