We had a Cooper from Lauderdale County, Alabama that moved to Oregon over a hundred years ago, maybe even a hundred and fifty. I'm not exactly sure which one it was, but I do know which family he is from. His DNA should match my father's through the John Cooper line from Florence, Alabama, and his father Stephen Cooper from Wayne County, Tennessee. If there is a surviving male Cooper from this line who carries the Cooper name, and would be willing to participate in the Family Tree DNA Cooper Project, please make it known. Within about six weeks, we will know!
