A COOPER Surname DNA Project exists for anyone looking for a way to find related COOPER-lines. It does require a male with the COOPER surname. The purpose is to find people with the COOPER surname who share a common ancestor, as well as identifying the different lines and possible points of origin. I have personally used DNA analysis to substantiate research, further my research efforts, give me direction in my research, and to prove or disprove research I have completed. I have found it to be an invaluable research tool. By no means does it supplant traditional genealogy research, but it does supplement and give an added tool in genealogical research.
