Nothing confusing about that response. I checked the 1930 US Census in Kirkwood, St. Louis Co., MO., for any Coopers and found a few but no Lee Allen Cooper. If you are sure he was born in Kirkwood you might call the local historical or genealogical society and see if you can find a newspaper entry on his birth. Another check would be to locate a birth certificate in St. Louis Co. or the state of MO. If you haven't already you might contact the library in Kirkwood at 314-821-5770 and ask them about getting access to newspaper articles births and deaths on or around May 6, 1926 or 1927. They could probably give you info on a local historical or genealogical society You can also contact vital records in MO for a copy of Lee Allen Sr.'s birth certificate. You can order on-line from St. Louis County Vital Records at: http://vitalrec.com/mocounties4.html#St.%20Louis Hope one of these help. Email me at any time. Ben PS. If you do find a birth certificate and would like for me to research ancestry.com for his parents, please contact me. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Cooppip@aol.com> To: <cooper@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, July 26, 2007 7:10 PM Subject: Re: [COOPER] Lee Allen Cooper Ben I am not a Cooper in blood, my ex was Lee Allen Cooper Jr. It is my daughter and grandson who is the Cooper bloodline. I know I confused things by my last name being Cooper-Piper. I have the last names of my two husbands because of children and business. Someday I will get around to changing it. I was a Cooper (single mom) for many years in business, so I just hyphenated when I married my second husband. He always says he is still on probation after 22 years of marriage and that is why I do not drop the Cooper. (Cute) My daughter is Lee Allen Cooper's only child. She has a 17 month old son. But as far as we know Lee Allen Cooper Jr. may have siblings, but since he never knew his father, we do not know of others. Hope I did not confuse you further. Thanks, Terrie Cooper-Piper
