HARTSVILLE, SC - A graveside service for James Emerson Cooper, Jr., age 82, widower of Naomi Estelle Lee Cooper, will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home. Mr. Cooper died May 27, 2008. He was born in Columbia, the son of the late James E. Cooper, Sr. and Jennie Mae Adams Cooper. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of West Hartsville Baptist Church, had retired from Sonoco Products Company, and was a member of the Old Timer’s Club. Surviving are daughters: Marcia (Wayne) Clanton, Monroe, NC, Jennie (Larry) Easterling, Hartsell, AL; son: James E. (Julie) Cooper, III, Hartsville; sister: Dorothy Cooper Moore, Charleston; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; special friends: Christine Tolson, June Hyman, Joseph Elmore.
