SUMTER, SC | Lunette C. Skipper, 80, widow of Ernest R. Skipper, died Monday, May 26, 2008 at her home. Born in Horry County, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Perdy Clyde Cooper and the late Liza Victoria Richardson Cooper. Mrs. Skipper was a member of Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Conway. She was retired from Becton Dickinson. Survivors include two daughters, Josephine (James) Blackstock of Fla., and Joan (Dennis) Junak of Sumter; six grandchildren, Sandy Graham, Chris Blackstock, Paul Blackstock, Ernest Junak, Tim Junak and Amethyst Watts; five great-grandchildren, Paige Graham, Katerina Blackstock, Bayla Blackstock, Isabella Watts and Emma Watts; and brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Ruppe of Asheville, N.C., Louise Treadway of Gresham, Birgil Martin of Gresham, Shirley Jackson of Conway, Parmalee Cooper of Conway, and Clyde Cooper Jr. of Conway. She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Ray Skipper. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Owens and the Rev. Tommy Bryson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the funeral home, and other times at the home of 231 Pinckney Street.
