Were there any other children of Malachi COOPER that anyone knows about? I'm searching for information about Peter COOPER, b. ca. 1810 Kentucky (township and/or county unknown), married Sarah ?, (b. ca. 1817, Ind.) children (according to 1850 US census, taken at Jackson township, Decatur Co., Ind.): John COOPER , b. ca. 1832, younger children James Cooper, Elizabeth Cooper, Ruthy Cooper, Martha Cooper, and Robert Cooper, all children born in Indiana. Sincerely, I. Cooper.
Malachi was born in NC, lived in Pulaski Co, KY and died in Rush Co, IN He was married to Anna Wilkerson.
I would have thought those from his direct line would have replied before I did, but this is a collateral line of my husband's. This Malichia was a brother to my husband's 4 great-grandfather, John Cotton Cooper. Both were sons of David Cooper and his wife Elizabeth, supposedly Wilder, from Spartanburg, SC. DNA matches have confirmed this line; if you go to the Cooper surname project website on FamilyTree DNA you can check it out. Go to www.ftdna.com, then put Cooper into the "search projects" field in the upper right corner, or you can go alphabetically. Then click on the Cooper project link, maintained by Hiram Ben Cooper. There are breakdowns of the various matching groups, as well as pedigrees of participants. How does your line go from Delilah? Would love to share more info with you. Hi Del, Did Malachi have any other children besides Delilah? I have a Jesse who was born in 1783 but I have no parents for him. The dates would fit. I don't know where Jesse was born or much about his life before 1815 in Hamilton Cty. Ohio. Sharon

P.S. You might check with Walt Davis re: Cooper's in this area. I believe I have seen he talk about a Cooper-Matney connection although I could be wrong. There is a "J.S Cooper Block" in Independence, OR. The building/s are of brick. The building fascinated me and I have made a drawing of it as it looks today. This is not, however, a part of my Cooper line. Carroll Cooper Summers thought I would mention my Coopers are the ones who made the big Cooper brick company in Independence Oregon. There is also a very large Cooper headstone in the cemetery out there, not sure if it is one of my Coopers tho. Dan http://www.wvi.com/~wb/MatneyPlace.html
